Fumaric acid
CAS No.110-17-8
Alias:TRANS-2-BUTEN-1,4-DIOIC ACID;TRANS-2-BUTENEDIOIC ACID;TRANS-BUTENEDICARBOXYLIC ACID;
Molecular formula:C4H4O4
Molecular weight:116.07
Structural formula:
1. Performance and use:
Fumaric acid is an important organic chemical raw material and intermediate for fine chemicals, as well as an important derivative of maleic anhydride, which is widely used in the fields of foodstuffs, coatings, resins and
plasticisers. In the food industry, fumaric acid is used as an acidifier in refreshing beverages, western wines, cold beverages, fruit juice concentrates, fruit Chemicalbook cans, pickles, ice cream. Used as an acidifier for sol
id beverage gas production agent, with good bubble persistence and fine product organisation. Use: Fumaric acid is permitted to be used as acidity regulator, acidifier, antioxidant additive, pickling promoter and edible spice for food under GB2760-1996 in China.
Used as mordant
Used in the manufacture of unsaturated polyester resin, pesticide, acidifier and amino acid, etc.
Used as acidifier, mostly used together with citric acid. It can be used in raw noodle wet products and fruit juice drinks, the maximum use amount is 0.6g/kg; it can also be used in carbonated drinks, the maximum use amount is 0.3g/kg.
Antibutylene dioic acid is used in the production of unsaturated polyester resins, which are characterised by good chemical resistance and heat resistance; the copolymer of antibutylene dioic acid and vinyl acetate is a good adhesive, and the copolymer with styrene is a raw material for manufacturing glass fibre reinforced plastics, and the plasticisers made from antibutylene dioic acid are non-toxic and can be used in vinyl acetate emulsion in contact with foodstuffs. The product is a pharmaceutical and optical bleach and other fine chemicals intermediates, in the pharmaceutical industry for the production of antidote drug dimercaptosuccinic acid, the anti-butene dichemicalbook acid with sodium carbonate and neutralisation, that is, to obtain anti-butene sodium ([17013-01-3]), and then replaced with ferrous sulfate to obtain anti-butene sulfonic acid iron, is used in the treatment of the anemia of microcytic blood cells type of medicine rich in blood iron. It is used as a food additive - acidifier for refreshing drinks, fruit candies, jellies, ice creams, etc., mostly used in conjunction with the acidifier citric acid, and the monosodium salt made by the reaction of transbutyleneglycolic acid with sodium hydroxide is also used as a sour flavouring, and is also used as intermediate for synthetic resins and mordants.

Assay % | ≥98% |
Color(APHA) | ≤50 |
Melting point ℃ | ≥275℃ |
Water % | ≤1.0% |
3. Usage:
1. Precautions for use (1)This product has strong buffering effect to keep the aqueous solution at pH3.0 or so, and plays an important role in antibacterial and antiseptic. (2)This product has astringent taste and is one of the solid acids with the most intensified acidic taste. Because of its low solubility in water, it is less applied. However, its low water absorption rate helps to prolong the preservation period of powdered products and the like. (3)After this product becomes sodium fumarate, the water solubility and flavour are better.2.Scope of use and usage(1)China's ‘Hygienic Standard for the Use of Food Additives’(GB2760-1996) stipulates that: used in carbonated beverages, the maximum use of 0.3g/kg; fruit juice drinks, raw noodle wet products is 0.6g/kg. Chemicalbook (2) the actual use of reference: ① for noodles, bread, steamed bread, added during the mixing of noodles, the amount, noodles for 3g/kg; bread, steamed bread about 1g/kg. ② for jams and jellies, the maximum dosage of 3g/kg. Alone or in combination with tartaric acid and its salts, so that the pH to maintain 2.8 ~ 3.5. ③ used in refreshing beverages, cold beverages, fruit juice concentrate, Canned fruits (peach, orange), etc., mostly used in combination with other organic acids. When combined with citric acid, the dosage is 20%-30% of citric acid. The dosage is 20%-30% of citric acid when combined with citric acid. ④ The dosage is 2-5g/kg (combined with succinic acid) when used in the preparation of wine and pickles. ⑤ When it is used as the acid of solid beverage gas-producing agent, the bubbles of the product are long-lasting and delicate.
3. Packaging and storage:
Packaging specification: Packing specification: 25kg/bag, also can be determined according to user's need.
During transportation, it is necessary to protect against sunlight, rain, and high temperatures.
The product should be stored in a cool, dark, ventilated place, away from sources of fire.
4.Safety protection:
Pay attention to labor protection when handling it and avoid contact with skin, eyes, etc. After contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water
