1.Performance and use:
Guanidine thiocyanate can be used as biochemical reagent, pharmaceutical intermediates. It is used for degreasing in oil and grease industry, as a strong fat degrading agent in daily-use chemical industry, and as a cell membrane rupturing agent in biopharmaceuticals.
Chemical depilatory agent is a kind of depilatory agent that can make the hair become soft, the hair strength become low, and the hair can be wiped or rinsed off in 2~6min. Since the composition of the hair shaft is similar to that of the skin, chemical depilatories inevitably cause damage to the skin, so depilatories are classified as special-purpose cosmetics. Thioglycolic acid-based depilatories are the main depilatories used today, and they are gradually replacing sulphide depilatories. The depilatory actives used in this type of depilatory are mercaptoacetic acid and its salts, mercaptopropionic acid and its salts, mercaptoChemicalbook lactic acid and its salts. From the performance and price considerations, the main use of mercaptoacetic acid and its salts for the depilatory active agent. The application of some swelling agents (Swellingagents) helps to accelerate the speed of the hair removal action of mercapto compounds depilatory agents, thereby, reducing the irritating effect on the skin. Such swellingagents include melamine, dicyanodiamide or mixtures of both (w=0.5%-2%), thiourea, potassium thiocyanate, guanidine thiocyanate and PVP copolymers.
Mainly used in biomedicine, chemical reagents, etc.
Chaotropic agent and strong denaturant, used for denaturing and lysing cells; extracting RNA and DNA.
