1. Performance and use

Hexadecanoic acid methyl ester, also known as palmitic acid methyl ester. Methyl palmitate is a raw material for surfactants and other fine chemical products. It is an excellent intermediate for manufacturing emulsifiers, wetting agents, stabilizers, rust inhibitors, and plasticizers. It can also be used as a raw material for bioinformatives, biodiesel, cosmetics, and in the preparation of plant acaricides.

Methyl palmitate is a colorless liquid or crystal (precipitated in ethanol at -15 ℃), easily soluble in alcohols, acetone, chloroform, and benzene, soluble in ethers, insoluble in water, and used as an intermediate for emulsifiers, wetting agents, stabilizers, and plasticizers; Methyl palmitate is a very common and abundant substance in nature, which is the main component of various wild plants such as edible trees and vegetables, medicinal plants, and ornamental plants. It is also one of the main components of some animal fat substances, such as the fatty oil of mole crickets containing a certain amount of methyl hexadecanoate. It is also a component of bioinformatics, biodiesel, and raw materials for cosmetics (emulsifiers, pharmaceuticals).
