Oxamide is a very stable colourless crystal or powder at room temperature, soluble in ethanol, slightly soluble in water, insoluble in ether.
Oxamide gradually decomposes and releases ammonia and carbon dioxide in the process of biodegradation, which is harmless to the environment; the use of oxamide can improve the utilization rate of chemical fertilizers, reduce the number of fertilizers applied to the Chemicalbook, and reduce the hazards to water resources; the use of oxamide as a fertilizer can reduce the cost of chemical fertilizers, manpower and time in the process of agricultural production, which has been confirmed in existing agricultural practices.
Used as stabiliser for nitrocellulose.
