Ammonium bromide
CAS No.12124-97-9
Alias: AMMONIUM BROMIDE;(NH4)Br;ammonia-hydrogenbromide(1/1);Ammonium bromide ((NH4)Br);Ammonium bromide, Puratronic, 99.999% (metals basis);Azanium bromide;Ammonium bromide, 99+%, for analysis;Ammonium bromide, for analysis
Molecular formula: BrH4N
Relative molecular mass: 97.94
Structural formula:
1. Performance and use:
Ammonium bromide is soluble in water and alcohol and is not particularly hazardous under normal conditions.
A chemical used for its bromide ion
Ammonium bromide was used as manufacture of photographic films, plates, and papers; in process engraving and lithography; fireproofing of wood; in corrosion inhibitors.
Colorless crystals made by hydrobromic acid acting upon ammonium hydroxide followed by crystallization. Soluble in ether, alcohol, and water, ammonium bromide was used as a halide in collodion formulas and as a restrainer in alkaline developers.
