Potassium pyrophosphate, also known as tetrapotassium pyrophosphate, is produced by melting dipotassium hydrogen phosphate and losing water molecules, it is a white crystalline powder or granule at room temperature, it has strong hygroscopicity in the air, it is extremely soluble in water but insoluble in ethanol, the aqueous solution is alkaline, it has the effect of inhibiting the corruption of food and fermentation, the pH of the 1% aqueous solution is about 10.5, and the solubility of the potassium pyrophosphate in 100g of water at 25℃ is 187g. It is hydrolysed into potassium phosphate in acid or alkali solution, and mixed with water to form viscous slurry. Mostly used with other condensed phosphates, such as 10% potassium pyrophosphate, 10% sodium pyrophosphate, 30% potassium polyphosphate, 30% sodium polyphosphate, 20% sodium metaphosphate ratio made of Chemicalbook ham, sausage binder, usually used to prevent canned aquatic products to produce guano stone, to prevent canned fruits from discolouration, to improve the expansion of ice cream, the amount of raw material for the extraction of coffee, ham, sausages, and to enhance water holding capacity. 1.Performance and use:

White powder or lump. Relative density 2.534, melting point 1109℃. Soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol. The aqueous solution is alkaline, the solubility in 100g of water at 25℃ is 187 g. The concentration of 1% aqueous solution pH=10.2. Potassium pyrophosphate has all the properties of other condensed phosphates.

It is mainly used in cyanide-free electroplating, replacing sodium cyanide as the complexing agent of electroplating. It is also used as pretreatment agent for electroplating and pyrophosphate plating solution. Component of detergents for the preparation of clothing, component of Chemicalbook for metal surface cleaners and bottle detergents, additive for various cleaning agents. Used as a clay dispersant in the ceramics industry and as a dispersant and buffer for pigments and dyes. Used in the bleaching and dyeing industry to remove small amounts of trivalent iron ions from water and to improve the quality of bleaching and dyeing.
