Lithium hydroxide CAS 1310-65-2

Lithium hydroxide is one of the most important lithium compounds, with two types: anhydrous LiOH and LiOH · H2O. Anhydrous LiOH is a white tetragonal crystalline particle or mobile powder with a relative density of 1.45g/cm3, a melting point of 471.2 ℃, and a boiling point of 1620 ℃. Lithium hydroxide monohydrate is a white, easily hygroscopic single crystal powder with a relative density of 1.51g/cm3 and a melting point of 680 ℃. When the temperature exceeds 100 ℃, it loses its crystalline water and becomes anhydrous LiOH. LiOH is soluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol, and easily absorbs CO2 to form Li2CO3 in air. LiOH and its concentrated solutions are corrosive and can corrode glass and ceramics at normal temperatures

Molecular formula: LiOH

Molecular weight:23.95

Structural formula:

氢氧化锂 结构式

1. Performance and use

Lithium hydroxide, chemical formula LiOH. Molecular weight 23.95. White crystals. The specific gravity is 1.46. Melting point 450 ℃. The decomposition temperature is 924 ℃. Slightly soluble in ethanol and soluble in water, but with lower solubility than other alkali metal hydroxides. Monohydrate is obtained when it absorbs moisture in air or crystallizes in aqueous solution. Strong alkali. Can fully react with strong or weak acids in aqueous solution. Absorb carbon dioxide in the air to produce lithium carbonate. Prepared by reacting barium hydroxide with lithium sulfate solution. Lithium hydroxide is a raw material for the preparation of lithium halides and various other lithium salts, and is used to produce high-quality lithium based lubricants. Used to absorb carbon dioxide in submarines and spacecraft

Mainly used as a raw material for producing lithium compounds. It can also be used in industries such as 3.metallurgy, petroleum, glass, ceramics, etc

Used for producing lithium salts and lithium based lubricants, electrolytes for alkaline batteries, absorption liquids for lithium bromide refrigeration machines, etc
